- SuperTreats are different from the start. Who else offers Vitality Granola Bites, Pro-Immune Ginger Snaps, and Pro-Health Biscotti for dogs?
- SuperTreats are good enough for you to eat. Why would you give your dog something that you wouldn't eat? SuperTreats are human grade, made with select human quality ingredients in.a FDA approved human bakery.
- Ingredients that do something. SuperTreats are all natural and have no corn, no wheat, no soy or meat products. The nutrition is not fortified from chemicals to artificially boost the vitamin content, but rather it comes from the ingredients themselves. That’s because we choose nutrient dense ingredients – those with superior nutrition per calorie – so there are no empty calories….antioxidants from blueberries and cranberries, vitamins A and C from sweet potatoes, omega-3 from flax seed, vitamin E from sunflower seeds and peanut butter, folic acid and B-vitamins from whole grains
Nutrition from whole foods is better. Clinical studies are showing that nutritional supplements are minimally absorbed by our bodies. Studies are showing that there’s a marked nutritional difference between eating a carrot and taking a beta carotene supplement. Recent nutritional research is finding that whole foods contain hundreds of previously unknown substances – phytonutrients – that provide protection for our bodies. Some have called the recent discovery of phytonutrients equivalent in importance to the discovery of vitamins and minerals decades ago. Click here to read more about SuperTreats nutrition.
There is so much compelling research linking poor nutrition for humans and pets to illness. Most adults, kids and pets do not get the nourishment they need to stay healthy and thrive. Meanwhile as a society we have less time to cook foods ourselves. We want to create a pantry shelf full of convenience products that are nourishing and tasty so people and their pets can feel better and stay healthy.
A lot of the inspiration for Thrive! came from talking to frustrated parents, kids and pet owners. We just love underdogs. And when you think about all that’s stacked against us - the empty calories in convenience foods out there, the lack of time to prepare or even eat healthy meals – well, people just felt like underdogs who needed a superhero. There’s something aspirational, fun and entertaining about superheroes. So we created something super nourishing and super tasty – SuperTreats.
Rescue is our support vehicle for funding child and pet rescue organizations. We believe in second chances, that’s why we support rescue organizations. Dogs that survive destitute circumstances – homelessness, abuse, starvation – are heroes. And the pet owners who rescue these dogs from desperate circumstances are heroes as well. We admire these heroes. That’s why we financially support dog rescue organizations by providing product for their fundraising efforts. See more about RESCUE
Yes. We had several veterinarians review the product and ingredients for safety.
We spent the better part of a year baking hundreds of treats to find the perfect balance of healthy ingredients and delicious taste. We wanted nourishment that was balanced across a range of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants as well as nutrient density – ingredients that have superior nutrition per calorie. In every treats we have four top antioxidant whole foods – blueberries, cranberries, sweet potatoes and flax seeds. Our grains are whole and minimally processed and an array of seeds and nuts provide essential minerals and protein.
We don’t have clinical studies on what eating SuperTreats specifically does to your dog’s body. And neither do other pet treats or even human food. That’s why there are nutritional guidelines. AAFCO has nutritional guidelines for dog food, but not dog treats. All of the body functions - from the immune system defense against disease and infection to the circulatory system’s delivery of oxygen – revolve around utilizing quality nutrition. Clinical studies are now showing that dogs deficient in one or more nutrients are more vulnerable to disease.
There are nutritional guidelines for pet food and human food. However, there are no nutritional requirements for pet treats. Therefore, most pet treats end up having “junk food” ingredients with little nutritional content. We developed a simple way for pet parents to see what their “kids” were eating. Our ratings are benchmarked against AAFCO standards for pet food. That is, if SuperTreats was a pet food, our star ratings reflect what our nutritional performance would be compared against the AAFCO reference. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE NUTRITION SCORECARD
We don’t think so. Because so many artificial, inexpensive “ingredients” end up being fillers not food in today’s grocery aisles and pet stores, our society doesn’t have a true appreciation for the real cost of good nutrition. At the end of the day, good for you, high quality ingredients are healthier and cost more. Look are our choice of ingredients and you’ll see that nutrition has precedent over cost – not any oil, but olive oil, not any dried fruits, but blueberries and cranberries, not processed peanut “spread,” but all natural peanut butter. When you think about how the rich nutrients in SuperTreats promote healthier living, it’s really not a big expense; it’s an investment in your dog’s quality of life.
We don’t clearly know, but studies show that dogs eating diets rich in fruits and vegetables along with omega-3 fatty acids and whole grains can boost their immune system so they stay healthier and feel better.
Of course. We started making SuperTreats from ingredients in our kitchen, so the ingredients we had were high quality human ingredients. We are still using those same ingredients today.
Super simple math.
Super ingredients + Big heart = Super nutrition + Super taste
A combination of our ingredient selection and high-tech packaging. We fresh bake Supertreats then package them immediately in high-tech packaging made of a multi-layered film which provides an excellent barrier to moisture and a high barrier to oxygen to maintain freshness.
